Cuban Solitaire near Viñales

One of my favorite endemics from Cuba is the plain-colored and shy Cuban Solitaire. As all solitaires, it has an otherworldly, mesmerizing song, which makes up for its rather dull appearance. It posed beautifully in flowering trees thanks to Nils Navarro abilities.

Nils gave an introduction about Cuban endemics and his work in the country to our Whitehawk’s group, which was a real highlight for everyone. Thanks Nils!

To all those visiting Cuba, I can recommend Nils’ book on Cuban bird endemics. You can read more about his book here: http://www.birdscaribbean.org/…/groundbreaking-endemic-bir…/
