Ringing Eurasian Griffons in Cadiz, Spain

Yesterday was a glorious day ringing Eurasian Griffons with Carlos Torralvo, Fernando Enrique and Martin Caballero at Parque Natural Los Alcornocales. The hardest work was done by Carlos, who had to rappel and climb to the nests. This is a ringing project carried out by Tumbabuey Grupo de Anillamiento, a nice bunch of friends that work hard to survey some threatened bird species in the province of Cadiz, like the Lesser Kestrel or the Montagu’s Harrier. Also, we saw the first White-rumped Swift of the season for Cadiz, a good number of Western Bonelli’s Warbler, Dartford Warbler, Firecrest, Peregrine Falcon, Booted Eagle, and even some raptor migration, with […]
