First tests with new Canon equipment

It was probably the worst day to test the new photography equipment, with gusts of wind higher than 40mph and dust blowing all around, but I got close to a kestrel that was covering from the wind. I definitely can see the potential of the new gear and it’s going to be a lot of fun to use it in the field… except for the heavy lifting.

New book on Raptors of Mexico and Central America

I just got a copy of the new “Raptors of Mexico and Central America” by Bill Clark and John Schmitt. The book looks great and it’s a major accomplishment. I’m happy to have contributed with some pictures, like the Black and White Eagle or the Orange-breasted Falcon. Recommended to all raptor fanatics and Neotropical addicts!

Hi everyone, this is a picture of Volcan de Fuego, an active volcano near the Atitlan Lake, Guatemala. I’m just about to fly back to Spain after a really interesting fam trip for Whitehawk in this region. Here, I had the chance to meet great people in the birding tourism business and conservation organizations. Black-tailed Trogon #Birding #Panama @whitehawkbird

We had a productive time in Panama planning Whitehawk tours for the next two years, which include exciting destinations like Colombia, Cuba, India and Madagascar, as well as our regular tours to Belize and Panama, among others. The Black-tailed Trogon in the picture was seen with friend and colleague Edwin Campbell during a Whitehawk trip in famous Pipeline Road. Now back in Tarifa and ready for another spring migration season in the Strait of Gibraltar!
